Christi's Sister Graduates from High School

Many sweet Christi followers have been with us since the very beginning.  Shayla was only three years old when Christi was diagnosed with cancer.  (She never remembered a time when Christi didn't have cancer.)

Well, those sweet supporters may be very surprised to learn that Christi's little sister is graduating from high school tomorrow and she will soon be leaving for college.

Thomas team thanks to the loving individuals who have followed us through our journey from Christi's diagnosis, four year battle, death,  and our recovery and learning to live without Christi -- something I'll admit we all three still struggle with at times. Regardless, I will bet Christi is very proud of her sister and she'll be with her soaring off to greater things.  Thanks for being on this journey with us throughout Shayla's (almost) entire life!

Wow! Congratulations, Shayla! When I first started reading Christi's blog, I was a homesick college freshman and you reminded me SO much of my little sister.

I wish you the best of luck as you begin your next chapter. May your days be celebrations!

She has always been such an impressive individual, from little girl to now as a young woman.

I want to be just like Shayla when I grow up! (says this grown adult :))

Best of luck in the transition to college!

Congratulations!

It's hard to believe I've followed your family long enough to see Shayla both start her school career and end this phase of it!

WELL, it's been 11 years now since Christi lost her battle with Neuroblastoma.

I've been thinking about her all day... how she'd look now, what she would be taking in college, if she would be dating anyone...

All those THINGS that little girls grow up and do.

How many people she touched with her lemonade stand and reading to other kids...

How beautiful she'd look, and what she had already accomplished.

What she DID accomplish was touching heats, and sharing smiles.
Sadly, that had to be enough, here in Earth, because GOD wanted her back.

It's been 11 years!
I'll NEVER forget you Christi! Although I never met you, I knew you through all the photos!

God bless you, sweet Christi, and your family, as well, who miss you terribly. I'll see you in person someday, up in heaven, and get to know you better.
Big John
