Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
I've been properly "reprimanded" - lol! I guess I haven't updated for a while so here goes! All is well, busy-busy-busy, but I will take Self-Selected busy over the "busy" of cancer treatments and life with loved one fighting cancer any day! Shayne headed for a weekend at Cedar Point to cheer on Webby (Eric) as he competed in the Iron Man half and Shayne was scheduled to do the sprint division; however, horrific weather canceled Shayne's event last Saturday. (Picture: While training, he came across a turtle. He felt as slow as he's been this little guy was a good partner for him, hee hee!)
As you may remember, Christi was diagnosed on September 11th, 2002. We knew it would be a tough day and it was, but thanks to sweet Shayla, we had an afternoon football game to attend so it was nice to do something fun and positive!
Thanks again to my awesome mom for taking so many great pictures and sharing them with all of us!
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Of course we are aware in October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May, June, July & August too.
The picture was taken in September of 2001 during Christi's first stay at Children's Hospital.
We have all been doing well! School is off to an excellent start and we were blessed to spend Labor Day weekend with my family.
In this picture, taken shortly before Christi was diagnosed, her uncle and dad are teaching her to play baseball.

Thinking of you guys tomorrow (19th) and remembering Christi on the 6 year (wow) anniversary of her Heavenly birthday. Extra prayers to get through the tough day. As ,y late best friend use to say on the anniversary of the death of my brother (12 years coming up on 9/26)...."it's just a day. A day something really bad and really sad that something happened, but it is just a day, and you will be ok.". Love and prayers.
