O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A!

Oh what a beautiful morning!! Auditions were yesterday. Shayla said she enjoyed showing how she could “shrug”, “play fight”, sing a song she was taught, and hold hands and run around a circle singing with the other kids trying out.

I put on a cowboy hat, got Buckeye, and went to Christi’s bedroom, where Shayla was again sleeping, to wake up Shayla in a special way this morning. In a very loud manner I started singing, “Oklahoma!” When she opened her eyes and looked at me like I was crazy I said, “Shayla!! I just got the email from your music teacher, you were one of the four girls selected to be in the high school musical!” If you can see through Christi's canopy, you will see, a very sleepy Shayla was pretty happy about that! What an amazing (and very exciting) blessing!

I bought our tickets today. If anyone would like to watch the high school musical and check out our amazing brand new school, you can call the High School office for tickets ($7 adults, $5 kids). (419) 426-3312. The show dates are Friday & Saturday, March 7th and 8th at 7:00 PM and ticket sales are going quickly.

Shayla! CONGRATULATIONS!!! you are awesome. If only I lived closer, I'd come see you in a heartbeat. What wonderful news! Yay to you to mom....no broken heart for not getting the part to contend with :)

Hope the Nexium works...if not, I too think they should look at the gall bladder.

Thinking of you, remembering Christi.

I will certainly be thinking of you throughout these next few weeks as you practice and during your performances.

They could not have made a wiser choice.

Well done Shayla! I remember from Christi's video that you seemed like a natural at acting - how great to be selected as one of only four!

Hope it's as good fun as the film,

Irene

Congrats Shayla on getting a role in the musical! My senior year of high school I played in the pit (clarinet) for my high school's musical. It was so much fun!

Congratulations Shayla from Oklahoma!!!!!!
My daughter Audra is 8 and loves to sing. She even looks like you with her long brown hair and glasses. Her sister died three months ago so you two have a lot in common---she also loves cats, horses, reading and ice skating!
Love,
Marlo (Audra and Anna's mom)

Hi Angela,

I read your blog regularly and have been since the very beginning of Christi's journey. I hope your stomach problems resolve. As a 4th year med student, I am wondering, based on my schooling, if you are dealing with gallstones causing the attacks. The symptoms typically appear after eating fatty foods. Just wanted to pass on some of my (limited) medical knowledge. Also, on a side note, Christi has inspired me to specialize in pediatric oncology. I will always have her in my heart when I am with my patients.

Love from Boston,
Kristin xoxo

Oh how I wish you guys were closer to SC. I love Oklahoma and it would be a delight to see Shayla. Wish her luck and "break a leg".

On a personal note. I just wanted you to know that I often say little prayers to Christi and my cousin's son Tyler (who past away a month after Christi from NB). Whenever I needed a little boost for a test or a job interview in oncology I would say a little hello and see if they could pull a few strings. Well, on Tuesday I had to sit for my board examination and right after I said my prayers to God a gave a little shot out to Christi and Tyler, then went in and took my test. Yesterday I found out I passed. So maybe they helped me with my confidence a little, maybe pulled a few strings for me. But either way, I sure did feel two little angels of inspiration on my shoulder.

God bless and YEAHHHHHHHH Shayla!

CONGRATULATIONS TO A SUPERSTAR!!! Shayla, you're always a star in our eyes, and now everyone will get to see you shine on stage! Woohoo! Do you think Buttercup and Buckeye will get backstage passes?? They look great all dressed up in Build-a-Bear outfits and wigs! Buttercup looks like a retired lounge singer in her wig!

Watch out Hannah Montana, here comes, Shayla O-H-I-YA!

CONGRATULATIONS SHAYLA! She'll have a blast! Tell her to "break a leg" but more importantly to have fun in rehearsals and performances. :-)

Congratulations Shayla on your role in Oklahoma. If we lived closer to Tiffin than Australia, we'd be buying tickets to come and watch you perform. We hope you really enjoy being in the show. Good night from Down Under! Michelle.
