First Day of Middle School

(PIC: Shay entering her new middle school on her first day of school)

Despite Shayla waking up with a horrible ear ache which vividly brought back memories of waking Christi up for her first day of school when she had terrible back pain that morning, but was so excited about starting school, Shayla too headed off for her first day of school. This time a first for our family - MIDDLE SCHOOL!

Orientation went very well last night (after she got her locker combination done) and it was nice to meet her teachers. She was so happy to see her friends.

After some prayers, she took off for school. I'm already anxious to hear how her day went - and she just left!

WOW! Look how tall she is! She is beautiful!

I just found you again. I followed you faithfully through all of Christi's journey and then lost your site. Cannot believe Shayla is starting Middle School! She looks so much like you!

You guys look great! I can't wait to hear how her day went! I hope her ear feels better :( Seeing the kitten in the first picture of you and Shayla reminded me of sweet Christi. Thinking of you all and your beautiful angel.

Shayla, I'm wishing you a wonderful first year in MIDDLE SCHOOL!!! So many changes and excitment happening in the Thomas household! :)

Angela, that last photo in this post brought a tear to my eye -- such love in your expression. Made me sad to think how much you must miss having that moment with Christi too, but also knowing you are so grateful and appreciative of Shayla and all her awesomeness!

Wishing BOTH Thomas girls a wonderful school year this year!

She's getting so tall! We miss you guys!!! I can't believe you guys start school so soon...Nick and his girlfriend (eek!) went to Cedar Point today with her dad and brother and he doesn't start school until Sept. 7th which is almost three weeks from today. We'd love to get together on the lake if we can still squeeze it in somewhere this summer!

Love,

Middle school??? How did that happen so fast? I've followed Christi's site for 7 years now and it's hard to believe little Shay has gone from a darling little 4 year old, to a BEAUTIFUL young lady!!
My son's first year of middle school went by so fast and he starts 7th grade on Wednesday.
I think of you often and still can't believe Christi has been gone for almost 4 years. It's been almost 10 years since my brother died and over 6 years since we lost my BFF to the terrible beast called Cancer.
Time sure has a way of flying by!
