Dear Shayla
Dear Shayla,
I love and miss you very much too and I’m looking forward to returning home on Wednesday when I will pick up “Misty” and read right where we left off and put on my roller blades to see if I can keep up with you on your blades!
I’m disheartened that you’re having some struggles with your father. One day you will realize that no man will ever care you more for you than your father. While I emphathize with your situation, as I’m currently up to my neck in homework from my teacher too, I also seem to remember last week quite vividly. Wasn’t it just last week when many nights you told me that you didn’t want to do your homework with me, you wanted to do it with Daddy? So, let’s use your magnificent imagination and pretend that it’s last week so you can get to do your homework with Dad!
Keep taking great care of all of the pets, take it easy on your wonderful father you are so blessed to have, and I can’t wait to scoop you up and put kisses on your beautiful face.
Until then,
Mama
P.S. Christi tells me every day she wishes you were here. (So do I!)
Today we set out to find some fellow Ohioans here for CHOP’s great treatment. We send our very best wishes to Jaret here on his first MIBG attempt! (We met this sweet family while Christi was treating in Columbus back in 2002.)
After our time at CHOP we sat outside of Ronald and enjoyed the lovely weather drawing, reading, playing Yahtzze, cards and puzzle books. After dinner she asked to go to the 7-11 for some pepperonis and to return to the UPenn Bookstore. She “needed” the wheelchair she said much to my surprise because she had been feeling so well. Later she confessed it was just so she could read her new book on the way home. (I guess it’s hard to read while you’re walking.)
Happy Birthday to one of my dearest friends, Becky B.!! I hope you and your sweet mom had a great time shopping today!!
