New Discoveries
What a hoot! I never saw this picture before but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! When I asked Emily about it she said it was taken when her mom was babysitting and Christi was playing dress up. Christi loved going there so much we used to say their family's last name after Christi's first name saying she really wanted to be in their family because they are so awesome. She'd just giggle!
Recently, our school's wonderful art teacher shared some photos with me she took of her students' art. In September of 2006, Christi died and this sweet elementary teacher was working with her students; some of them wove Christi into their work. These sixth graders are now my eighth grade students. I am incredibly grateful that she shared their memories of Christi with me.

I think if we gathered everyone that loves Christi, near and far, there wouldn't be a building on this earth big enough to hold us all. She is such a gift to this world and I so can't wait to meet her when I join her in heaven.
Dance, ballerina angel, dance for our Father.

My name is Carla and I am Portuguese, from Lisbon. So, sorry if my english isn´t good.
I need to share with you what I´m feeling since I saw this blog. I am deeply sad for your loss and for a global Christi's neuroblatoma story. In four years she never had a peaceful period of treatments. What a strong cancer!
But what make me cry all the time I think on her, is to realize a fantastic girl (human being) she was: sensible, corageous, with a unique sense of humour, so polite (even in a painful moments), and always with a optimistic smile on her face... her beauty face!
I've a 4 years old son and yesterday, when I finished to read a great part of Christi's story (at 3:00 a.m.), I went to his room and while I looked at him I just cry convulsively, asking why children have to suffer in this world.
I needed to tell you that I admire you a lot. You are a very excepcional family! Christi and Shayla are too lucky for having a mother and a father like you. And I also think you - Angela and Shayne - were chosen by god to be a parents of these two special girls. What a good example of LIFE you all give me. Thank´s a lot for sharing with us your light!
With love,

Those are such sweet art pieces and notes from the art students. Christi truly touched the hearts of so many and she continues to inspire many people. Love and miss you Christi!
