Missing You Terribly, Sweet Christi

May 12, 1997 - September 19, 2006

PIC: Christi's Last Christmas, 12/23/05, age 8

I feel like someone has taken a knife to my chest and ripped out my heart. I will leave for work in just a bit and will try my best to ignore the time and block out my thoughts when 9:00 a.m. arrives. May God continue with me.

This photo of Christi and Shayne is one of my favorites. It was taken at my sweet cousin Lora and Chris's wedding in Tiffin on September 19th 1998.

I felt a huge tug in my heart today And I tried to ignore it , Then at 9.00am I had shivers running down my spine and i became cold - I tried standing up to shake myself off but for some reason I became weak at the knees And I didn't know why ! But then It suddenly dawned on me that At that time 2 years ago was when Sweet little Christi Flew to God's Kingdom Leaving you Felling wmpty inside, My eyes then filled with tears , i Felt like My heart was burning away ! It's as if My body knew that today was the day in 2006 when Christi Grew her wings . I also felt like Christi was telling me not to forget her , Which i can tell you is something i will never do - Christi was a beautiful Young lady , Who has now been a beautiful Young Angel for 2 years now - Go Christi!! Angela I really will Never understand the true pain that you feel , Christi was a remarkable little girl who fought so hard for her precious life ! I've Prayed hard for you,Shayne and Shayla in the last few weeks , I hope that god and Christi will be with you , because you deserve it. You are the most Incredible People In the World and Im certain that Christi will be proud of you all and talking about your strength and ability to inspire everybody , to all of her angel friends who fly with Her ! I can't imagine the beauty that will radiate from Christi In her Angel Wings !

Happy Second Angel Birthday, lovely Miss Christi!!

Yesterday I wrote a really long message that blogger apparently ate :(. But I said that it was very sad about Matt Mason and I was quite sure that Christi was pulling him about heaven by the hand giving him the exclusive Christi Thomas Tour of Heaven and that I would be thinking of you all today. At 9 am, I paused a moment (right in the middle of a class, the professor must have thought I was out of my mind, haha) and said a little prayer for you, Shayne, Sweet Miss Shayla, and Angel Christi. I hope by the time you read this, the day and its memories (especially those of the not so good sort) will be behind you once again.

All the best.

Hello Angela, Shayne, & Shayla,

You are all in our prayers today as always. I can't even begin to imagine your pain, but I hope that all the prayers being said for your family helps to ease it at least a little.

On another note, I was looking at the picture you posted of Christi. I don't remember seeing it before, but as I looked at it I thought that the wrapping paper in the corner looked familiar. Then I looked closer at what she was holding in her and and recognized the address labels that we had created for our Christmas cards! It was then that I realized that the card and gift she were opening must be what we had sent to her that year! I don't remember what it was, but I sure hope she liked it! It certainly brought a big smile to my face.

Love you guys!

You have all been in my thoughts throughout today and the children fom the cancer centre where I work sent Christi a huge sparkly colourful rainbow of love in the form of balloons and messages - christi's lessons are all to clear in the facesof each and everyone of those special little people.

Thankyou for sharing more photographs of christi - they brought us to tears today but also tave but o smiles.

As you know I'm yet another mummy of an angel and recognise the feeling that you described only too well angela - words don't help much, nothing can truly help that feeling except the oen thing that we cannot have but hopefully the love of christifrom her special place and the love that is being sent your way from your friends across the world can bring some comfort.

My prayers and love are with you, Shayne & Shayla and of course with Christi as always - may you all continue to find the strength you need to carry on until you are altogether agan in the usual way and may Christi be as happy as she deserves to be.

Love

I've been thinking of you all week. I am so sorry to hear about your student Matt. He sounds like a wonderful boy and it is just so very sad. I will pray for his poor devastated family, and also for you as you cope with this so close to your own grief and stress at reaching the two-year mark of Christi's death. I know you miss her every single minute of every single day, but those "aniversaries" seem to focus the sadness more sharply.

Praying for better days,

Aimee
