Inpatient

After spending eight (yes, 8) long hours in the lovely emergency room at CHOP last night, Christi went inpatient at 5:00 AM this morning. Unfortunately, with no rooms to be had on the oncology floor, she’s on 5 South. (Shayne said he put in a request for an upgrade, but no one is holding their breath. We know how this works.) Sadly, among other things, it means no computer access (so much for the webcam). Christi received a platelet transfusion today. She’s feeling lousy: nausea, feverish, mouth sores, not eating, aches and pains, etc. I’m thankful Aunt Vaunie is there. What a blessing! I will soon be on my way as Shayne heads for home!

Ugh! I am so sorry to hear that Christi and Shane were stuck in the er so long! I hope a room opens up in oncology very soon (or that the nasty fever disappears)!

Thinking of you and praying that today has been a better day for Christi.

I've also been meaning to mention something to you since reading that Christi liked the vanilla milk that Shayne got for her. Carnation Instant Breakfast comes in French Vanilla and it tastes really good. If you haven't already tried it, it might be worth picking up for her. (FYI: The powder mix tastes much better than the premixed stuff in the drink boxes.) I'll pray extra hard for her relief of those nasty mouth sores!!
