The Secret Photos from CHOP (Shhhh!)

Well, I knew I could never post these pictures while Christi was alive and we may be trying to get back into the hospital, but now that won't be happening I can share these treasured photos of the time a sweet Philly friend, who will forever remain nameless, snuck her aunt's kitty into CHOP in her purse. Great joy! Great memories!

The first time I saw the kitty photos some time ago i thought to myself...hmm, I didn't know CHOP had an animal program....since we didn't hear about it when my son was there. I think it's too sweet and absolutely amazing no one heard the kitty because they can be so loud...especially when you don't want them to be. And I notice Christi's nightie matches the occassion too...to sweet. She will be sorely missed.

what a blessing to have this little kitty snuck into CHOP! It looks like Christi most certainly enjoyed it's company. When I was at a children's hospital they actually had pet therapy and one of the little pups kept trying to get my IV, it was sooo funny!

PS.. Hi Sweet Shayla! My nephew got a pokemon thing today and I thought of you... he has no clue what the names are its so funny!

Hello,

Many many thoughts and many many healing wishes being sent your way. The pics of the kitten and Christi are a treasure. My Dad spent 3 months before he died in Crozer Chester's Cardiac Intensive Care and one night my brother and I along with a couple of nurses who must also remain nameless 'snuck' a 90 pound long haired German shepherd into Dad's ICU room up on the 4th floor!! As nervous as I was about getting caught - the look and smile on my Dad's face was worth every second of nerves. His face lit up and he just said 'Sophie' and old Sophie wagged her tail. Our stay only lasted about 5 minutes, but the thrill of the 'sneak' and the joy on Dad's face will be a treasured memory that I'll hold dear forever. The quote "God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December" is so true. Memories can still bring tears, but they can so bring a smile and laugh.

Treasure the memories and treasure each other,
Lorraine

I am in tears reading about your little girl. I am so sorry for your great lose.

Our daughter was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer last February. She was 9 years old then. We are just now about to have her scanned to see if her first radiation treatment worked. Our daughter was diagnosed with "the best cancer" and her survival rates are pretty high. Although they were knocked down a bit since her cancer spread to her lungs. It has been the hardest thing we have ever had to deal with. I can't imagine all of what you and your family and your daughter had to go through and what you are probably still going through.

Thank you for sharing Christi's incredible story with us. my thoughts and prayers are with you.
