Birth Tree Blooms

Check Out This Incredible Quilt!! Thank you, sweet Kim M.! We will be auctioning it off at the Tea Party on Saturday! It is gorgeous! (Kami and Jennifer reported that the chocolate teapot candies they made for party favors are darling! I bet they are!) THANK YOU!
When each daughter was born, we had a "birth tree" planted - never imagingng that the tree would outlive the girl!! For Christi, we selected a dogwood tree because we knew it would bloom in the month of May - her birthday. Christi's tree blooms beautifully and it's bittersweet to keep seeing it this year. Shayla's oak tree died aabout two years ago and she decided upon a lilac bush to be replanted instead of the oak tree which died. (We called Shayla acorn when she was in my tummy because she felt like a little tiny "acorn".)
At this time ten years ago:

Shayla outlived her tree. Christis tree out lived her how weird. Christis birthday is in four days I know it gets harder and harder as the day goes on.
Hi Angela, Shayne, and Shayla,
I just wanted you to know that I am still checking in on you, still thinking of Christi, and especially thinking of your family as you approach Christi's birthday.
With love,
Liz

What a beautiful quilt to honor Chrisit's special day. Christi's tree is a beautiful reminder of her spirit and her life.
I know these days must be so difficult for you. There is nothing I can say except that I am thinking of you all and praying for you.
Much love,
Olivia
Unfortunately I can't see the picture of the quilt but I'm sure it looks amazing! I'd love to see a picture of what Christi's tree looks like now as you said it blooms in May. I wonder why Shayla's oak tree didn't survive but lilac bush's are very nice. *Stay Strong!*
It is with a heavy heart that I write about another NB warrior gaining his angel wings this morning. He faught NB for 9 long years. He devloped a bacterial infection that his weakened immune system couldn't handle. Bryan Tressler, Forever 14.
