Cruising

Shayla’s birthday cruise has been incredible! Today is our final day at sea and I sucked up the “sticker shock” of going on-line so that I could share these pictures. My mom always worries about me so I thought she ought to know we are fine, sailing back to Texas and doing great.

On this dream vacation, we have talked about our many memories of Christi’s only cruise (Disney, Dec. 05). We know she loved it and that she would have enjoyed this one too. There have been very few “orbs” in our pictures; however, the HUGE one when we had a rare “family” photo taken was blew us away when we saw it. I really want to believe Christi is with us, sailing God’s beautiful waters on this Royal Caribbean cruise ship!

We only wish we could have brought all of our friends and family along as that is the only thing that could make this vacation even better. I hope you enjoy the pictures. (Because I’m being charged by the minute, I’m not going to add any captions.) We went to Roatan, Honduras (where we went horseback riding and snorkeling), Costa Maya, Mexico (where we toured ancient Mayan ruins and went to a private Mayan home for lunch) and Cozumel Mexico (where Shayla swam with the dolphins and then went snorkeling). We also spent three splendid days just “sailing” at sea, enjoying the many amenities offered on a ship carrying nearly 4,000 passengers. What a blessing!

Shayla is ten years old.. I can't believe it! I must say, that she definitely resembles Christi in a lot of these photos- especially the one of her and her daddy sitting at the coffee table, overlooking the front of the ship. I am so glad you guys are having an amazing time!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAYLA!!! I love all of these photos -- it certainly appears that the Thomas Team are having a great cruise! I imagine you're all very glad to be out of the snow and ice of Ohio's winter!

I especially love the photo of Shayla facing the dolphin and holding onto it's fins...so obvious that they are BOTH enjoying themselves!

I'm glad you had a good time! We are going on Voyager (for the second time) for Spring Break (although we are going on the alternate itinerary). We loved Roatan! I hope you write more about your cruise when you return home.

These photos are amazing! Looking forward to hearing more about everything you saw. The first photo really is lovely - Angela, you look so glamourous in your dress, and isn't it lovely that the Christi orb is over Shayne's heart? Happy birthday Shayla - I hope Thursday was extra special for you - and enjoy your next decade!

Will you guys adopt me? I won't eat much and promise to always keep my room clean!! :-) (if only a 39 yr old COULD be adopted!!) You guys are the best parents!! Shayla is a very blessed kid to have the 2 of you!!! She is always involved in a ton of things and getting to take lots of fun trips!! And you make every one of them educational in some way, even without Shayla realizing it, I'm sure!!! Anyway, it has been fun celebrating Shaylaruary this month! :-) Sara, a fan from Atlanta

Happy birthday to your beautiful girl! Wow, the trip of a lifetime! Shayla is really growing up and she is doing so well in everything,...I am blown away. I can't help but feel Christi is smiling down on her little sis and feeling proud at everything she's done.

How poignant for Shayla to celebrate a birthday that Christi never reached...my heart is heavy for you. Heartfelt prayers for always.
