Thank you so much for sharing your story. I have been reading your blog and praying with you for quite some time now. It is so beautifully written that I feel like I have known your family forever. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. I have 3 daughters (one is christi's age) and I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through. Please know that my prayers will continue to be with you.

Beautiful articles about a beautiful girl! I've no doubt that her story will live on! God bless you Shayne and Angela for your selfless decision to allow Dr. Maris to establish a cell line. I will pray that FU NB 2006 becomes a reality and becomes the key to a cure for this monster!

God be with you all -

Love -

Kim

"Parents who have lost a child speak of the 'zero point.' Our lives are divided into the time before and the time after our children died. No event – no graduation, no marriage, no other death - so defines us. At one moment I was one person, then, suddenly, I was someone else. The task we face is to create with our new selves something that, in some measure, redeems our suffering. We plant gardens, establish memorials, cherish our children’s memories and help those who must struggle, as did we, with despair. We read stories of other parents bereft; sometimes we reach out to them with our experience of bearing the unbearable."

Praying for you at your "zero point." Praying & knowing that God will walk with you as you bear the unbearable. Precious Christi's courage is rivaled only by that of her sweet family ~ Team Thomas. Sending love from Atlanta.

What a lovely, touching article. Dr Maris was very kind to speak to well of both you and Christi - what a wonderful human being he is. I don't know how he does the job that he does...but thank God he does.

The articles are beautiful. I went home today to teach ballet and my grandma brought over an article from the Sandusky Register about your sweet Christi also.

Her going-to-Heaven gown is absolutely gorgeous.

Love you, Jennifer

Angela ~ Shayne ~ Shayla ... just letting you know that I am thinking about all of you today - on what will be difficult and still somewhat joyous day (in a depressing way!) ... thank you for continuing to share Christi with us all ... I can not close my eyes without seeing her beautiful face and that unbelievable smile that lit up the room and the people around her ... the world truly lost an Angel - but Heaven gained one of the Best! I am sure Christi and her grandpa have been quite busy catching up with eachother ... he is no longer alone and she isn't either ... May you hold each other tight as you travel this road ... May God Bless you and hold you tight as well! Continueing to be a faitful Prayer Warrior - Now for you three as well!

God Bless!
