"11 German Shepherds" (Christi's Movie)

11 German Shepherds

By Christi Thomas

My deepest thanks to Jason!! (Some may remember him as the "Mad Hatter" at Christi's Tea Party, well what a sweetheart he is!) He met me at COSI on Sunday and took the DVD hardcopy of the Christi's final day in Ohio, when she wrote and made her video "11 German Shepherds", and he went to house and somehow figured out how to get it on the blog. While Christi wasn't feeling "the greatest" that day she was very happy about writing, directing, making the signs for and acting in this little play she put together (along with her crazy family). It was definitely this little girl's "last hurrah". The next day I emailed my mom and aunt Marty saying, "It's a good thing we made that movie yesterday, today she cannot get off of the couch; she's in so much pain. She feels horrible." It's 9 minutes and Shayne and Uncle Jeff act pretty goofy in it, but it was like a dream come true for Christi; she did something she talked about doing for so long, she made a movie! How very blessed am I to have a lengthy video of her taken one day before she had her final trip to Philadelphia. I just wish it contained her incredible little giggle, but that's ok. Thankfully, that's still in my mind.

What a wonderful video!!! Well done to all the cast! It was nice to hear your voices in real life after just reading your written words for so long. I thoroughly enjoyed the video, just wish Christi was here so we could all tell her in person, what a great video she made!! Thinking of all the Thomas Team have a wonderful weekend.

What a great video! So silly. I have never heard Christi's voice before, except for a few words.

Is there any way we can download it? I'd love to have it on my computer.

It's wonderful! So glad to see it after all this time! My favourite moments are Christi's comedy delivery of "seven hours" each time she goes in a car (very her?!) and Shayla's great moment of (very natural by the way) acting when she jumps after being disturbed by Christi: she must have been very busy "ranching." Love it! It must be so great that you have this lovely souvenir of a super day together.

Hope things on the up,

Irene

Thank you so much for sharing Christi's movie! She did an amazing job putting this together. While I'm so glad she had the chance to create her first movie, it's just not fair that she was robbed of the chance of making many more here on earth. I'll think positively in that I bet she has made many more with all of her human and animal friends in heaven! I thought I heard a little bit of her giggle while standing next to Shayne and uncle Jeff talking with their "goofy" voices! Christi, you are forever loved and missed!

This is sooooooo cute! I have to say Shayne's part really made me smile - and I love Christi's acting, especially when she was saying "we have to spend another seven hours in the car, darn" :)

Thank you so much for sharing - it was good that in her last full day alive in Ohio she got to do such a creative and fun project.

What a treasure! Thank you for sharing Christi's movie. The sweetest thing I've ever seen...so cool to see the whole family taking part in it, I especially loved the scene with both your girls. I'm so happy to see Christi in action! As you said, she can't have been feeling well, but she's always a trooper.

Dear Angela and Shayne,
I left the computer on all night downloading Christi's video and it still won't run properly, just very slowly and keeps stopping, I have only seen the beginning of Act 2 so far. It is lovely to see and hear her though, I'll try sending it to my daughter's computer, she has ADSL so we should be able to watch it properly.
Take care
Love Angela

Oh my goodness! Thank you for sharing this priceless memory. It is absolutely adoreable! Christi was so talented in SO many areas, but she sure liked the 'arts'.

Many prayers are still said for your family to find peace and comfort.

This video was so wonderful to watch. I applaud your family in taking the time to all act silly and do something that meant so much to a special little girl. So many families would be "too busy" or think it not important enough to do. We are all able to benefit from this wonderful production! Thank you for sharing it with us.

I have never met Christi, but I went to Theater camp with Shayla. They are a lot alike. They sound the same to me and I love Christi's production, it was great. I know she loved acting because she did camp at the Ritz. Every year she was the same thing as me but I never did get to meet her. I am sure she was a Awesome girl, just like her sister!

I have been a CT fan for awhile now-and it was so amazing to watch her video and get to see her and hear her voice. She was obviously an awesome little girl and loved beyond words. Thank you for continuing to keep your blog updated as to how the Thomas family is and by always keeping Christi's spirit alive.
(My son's b-day is May 13, 1997-a day difference than Christi's I think)
God Bless you all and thanks for sharing so much
