"Ed on My Shoulder" by T. L. Moore

Quite some time ago, I received an email from a sweet “blogger” asking if she could dedicate her first children’s book to Christi. I learned more about her and the story and then I agreed. The author sent me the lovely book and quite frankly, it scared me. It was a real children’s book, dedicated to Christi. I don’t know why it was so hard for me to read, perhaps because I knew, like Christi’s story, this story would also come to an end and then that would be it. I hate when books end! I don’t know. The excuse I gave myself and the author was that I was so busy with school and then with my candidacy exams that I didn’t have time. Each night I went to bed, it was on the top of my (OK, quite frankly, “tall”) stack of books I’m looking forward to reading. Finally, I got to it then couldn’t put it down. As a mother and a teacher, I’m honored and pleased to have Christi associated with something so good!

"Ed on My Shoulder"
by T.L. Moore

Inside the book, the author wrote to me:

Angela,

Angels sometimes walk among us. Christi was one of those angels. She changed my life and my pathway as an author. Thank you, Christi. God bless.

Love, T.L. Moore

The book’s dedication states:

This book is dedicated to a very special little girl, a little angel who spread her wings and now is flying among the angels. This awesome little girl touched my heart and my very soul and changed my pathway as an author. Because of Christi Thomas, I want to do all that is within me to help the children of this world. Christi, thank you for changing my life and changing the world. God bless you, little angel.

Information about the Author: T.L. Moore was born in Houston, Texas in the year 1966. She loved writing even as a child and writing always brought her much happiness. Her love for Jesus Christ and the children around the world is deep inside of her heart and soul. One of her dreams and goals is to work with the children with cancer and other illnesses and somehow make a difference in their lives. A smile from a child is all the reward she ever needs. T.L. now resides in Pasadena, Texas with her husband and her three children and many pets.

The sweet author wrote to me recently via email:

I have kept my eyes focused on God and knew in my heart that "Ed" was from him. I made up my mind to walk away a few days ago and give up on "Ed". The stress of it all is taking its toll so much...and then when I start to think of the children, children like Christi...all I want to do is to help these awesome kids who are going through so much. Angela, your child is the reason behind "Ed". I hope it is okay but I printed out a picture of Christi and I keep it on my desk. She inspires me so much to keep on keeping on. Angela, I think we have an "Ed" on our shoulder...and that angel is named Christi.
God bless you and thanks again for being as awesome as you are.
T. L. Moore

If you are interested in purchasing “Ed on My Shoulder”, you can go to Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble; however, I would like to suggest going through WWW.TLMOOREBOOKS.COMinstead because if purchased there, 10% of whatever she makes off the book goes to M.D. Anderson's children's cancer center in Houston, Texas. Christi still has stem cells in storage there in Houston. We worked with Dr. Russell, as do many neuroblastoma children. The links to purchase the book are there. The cost is $9.99.

Finally, the author let me know that "Ed" has two songs now...One of the songs is called “The Red Headed Angel”. She wrote, “Please listen to it and see if you know a name in the lyrics he mentions…..God bless you always. To hear the song, go here: WWW.MYSPACE.COM/EDONMYSHOULDER and click on "Red Headed Angel".

Now I know what everyone on my Christmas buying list is getting this year. Congratulations to Ms. Moore on a great book and to Christi especially, for a well deserved and special dedication. She surely is looking down with an enormous smile on her sweet face.

This whole story has truly touched my heart. It is very special that a woman that has never even met Cristi can be so touched as to dedicate her career around one little, precious girl. Cudos and May God Bless!
